Rabbit isn’t necessarily something that you’ll find on the average dinner table most days. Here’s a list of tasty paleo rabbit recipes, and many of them are rich and delicious stews perfect for chilly days — others are lights dishes like skewers. Whatever you’re here for, I hope you leave with a rabbit recipe you’re excited to try!
1. Bacon Wrapped Rabbit Loin With Bacon Strawberry Dressing
Think there’s enough bacon in this recipe? The flavor is absolutely amazing. I think the strawberry bacon dressing is really my favorite part of this recipe, but it goes perfectly well with the flavor of rabbit, particularly if your rabbit is wild and a bit gamey.
I’ve said before how much I love kabobs and skewers, right? This recipe is a perfect example of why. You’ll need rabbit striploins, apricots, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic, raw honey, lemon, parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Serve with cauliflower rice, if you’d like.
I love my slow cooker, and if I can use it to fill the house with the amazing scent of this braised rabbit while also making dinner? Even better. This recipe is made with tallow or another fat of your choice, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, mushrooms, and even more goodies.
Want your rabbit on the grill? Let’s do it. This recipe uses yogurt (you can use coconut yogurt), salt, freshly ground black pepper, and an amazing rhubarb chutney that’s linked in the recipe. Make yourself a spicy, sticky, perfectly barbecued rabbit tonight for dinner.
This stew is rich in flavor and totally delicious. You’ll need rabbit legs, pork belly, onion, celery, carrots, a few seasonings, some dry cider, and if you’d like a stew that’s extra rich and creamy, use a touch of arrowroot flour and some coconut cream.

6. Spanish Chorizo and Rabbit Stew
This stew has a spicy flair with picante chorizo sausages! You’ll also add cherry tomatoes, garlic, paprika, red pointed peppers, and chicken stock. Bonus points if you give yourself the nutritional benefits of homemade bone broth. Finish with parsley, olive oil, and lemon.
7. Slow Cooker Rabbit and Cabbage
This Cajun-inspired slow cooker recipe uses rabbit, coconut oil or ghee, cabbage, chicken broth, onion, and dried basil. The simple ingredients really allow the natural flavors of the rabbit and veggies to shine through. Bonus points for using homemade bone broth!
Clay pots are a traditional way to cook food in many parts of the world, and they have such advantages when it comes to flavor and moisture. This rabbit is cooked with bacon, Vidalia onion, garlic, seasonings, and broth. The bacon helps infuse and richen the flavor of rabbit, since it’s very lean on its own.
9. Braised Wild Rabbit With Glazed Apples, Bacon, Shallots
This recipe is for a delicious full meal you can make in a single pot. The rabbit is seasoned with fresh thyme, rosemary, and bay leaves, and the flavors of the cinnamon apples with an apple juice glaze fantastically complement the smokiness of the bacon and savory flavor of the shallots.
10. LCFH Crock Pot Rabbit Stew
Rabbit is pretty much perfect for stews, hence the prolific recipes! But who’s complaining? This recipe uses butter, smoked pork belly, sweet onion, rosemary, dry white wine, Celtic sea salt, and whole peppercorns. The caramelized onion really makes this dish.
11. Rabbit Cacciatore and Meatballs Over Mashed Potatoes
Here’s a fancy meal that’s easy to make, but great for guests, birthdays, or other special occasions. You’ll need sweet potatoes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, onion, tomatoes, white wine, ground pork, shiitake mushrooms, and an assortment of seasonings.
