Macadamia nuts aren’t as popular on the paleo diet as almonds, but not because they aren’t as healthy—macadamias may be a pricier nut, but they have so many uses from milk to nut butter to meat coating and beyond. Try some of these paleo recipes using macadamia nuts as an ingredient in cookies, dinners, cheesecakes, spreads, smoothies, and so much more.

Macadamia nuts are so rich and buttery-flavored, but I always just ate them by themselves. These macadamia recipes showed me how to incorporate them into some dynamic dishes.

1. Macadamia Nut Superfood Fudge
Delicious addictive as it may be, this fudge is absolutely packed with superfoods, and when I say packed, I mean it! You’ll use raw macadamia nuts, two types of gelatin, raw cacao and carob powders, chia seeds, bee pollen, and lucuma with tahini, coconut oil, and blackstrap molasses. Yum!

3. Pumpkin, Apricot, and Macadamia Balls
This fall-themed treat is a hit with kids, even if you choose not to shape them to look like pumpkins. They’re simple to make with just dried apricots (sulfate-free), pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, macadamia nuts, and raisins (sultanas). no sweetener necessary!

6. No Bake Coconut Lime Tart

7. Tropical Superfoods Salad
This salad is a combination of sweet and savory with a blend of tropical ingredients like sweet Maui onions, avocado, macadamia nuts, mango, black lava salt, and more. Cucumbers add a refreshing crunch and flavor while fresh lemon juice and black pepper keep the flavor nice and spunky.

8. Tart Cherry Ice Cream With White Chocolate and Macadamia Nuts
This ice cream just screams summer, so if it isn’t summer while you’re reading this, you’ll want to tuck it away so you don’t forget about it. You’ll need tart cherries, coconut milk, coconut sugar, vanilla, white chocolate, and chopped macadamia nuts. If you can’t find paleo-friendly white chocolate, feel free to just use chopped cacao powder.

34. Oatmeal Cookie Nut Butter
Because macadamia nuts have a naturally creamy flavor, they’re often used as a base for flavored nut butters like this oatmeal cookie nut butter, which has no oats in it! Raisins, dates, and walnuts help get the texture you’re going for, just like oatmeal cookie dough, while coconut, vanilla, honey, and cinnamon add delicious flavor.
