8 Cauliflower and Sweet Potato Paleo Gnocchi

My husband is Italian, so I’ve had to perfect the art of gluten-free and grain-free gnocchi. Surprisingly, they aren’t that difficult! Try some of these paleo gnocchi recipes and fall in love.

1. Grain Free Cauliflower Gnocchi

These gnocchi are beautifully golden brown and delicious, make with russet potato, cauliflower, tapioca flour, egg, and a bit of salt. The recipe calls for parmesan cheese, but if you don’t eat dairy, you could replace the parmesan with nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor and perfect texture.

2. Sweet Potato and Spinach Gnocchi With Garlic Oil

My favorite thing about this recipe is that it doesn’t use a starch to bind it together, so it’s kept healthier by being made mostly from sweet potatoes, spinach, and almond flour. The nutritional yeast gives these guys the best flavor, and the fancy oil is the icing on the cake, or…the gnocchi. Not icing, though. You get me, right?

3. Sweet Potato Gnocchi With Asparagus and Dandelion Pesto

Sweet potato makes a perfect gnocchi ingredient, and this recipe is even vegan, too! The gnocchi are egg-free and doused in an amazing pesto made from dandelion greens. You’ll serve them up with chopped asparagus for an easy weeknight meal, especially if you make your gnocchi ahead of time.

4. Easy Grain-Free Gnocchi

To make things a bit simpler, try this gnocchi recipe made from a grain-free pizza mix, sweet potato puree, eggs, coconut flour, and tapioca starch. These would be perfect with a red sauce, pesto, or even a brown butter sauce and some roasted vegetables.

5. Best Salad Ever

This salad starts with leafy greens and adds onions, butter oil (or ghee), sweet potato gnocci made with arrowroot and potato starch, pumpkin seeds, and dried cranberries. Goat cheese is listed as a topping, but just leave it off if you don’t eat dairy.

6. Dual Colored Sweet Potato Gnocchi

This beautiful dish uses two kinds of sweet potatoes to make lovely two-toned gnocchi that are purple and orange, and make an amazing plate when served on a bed of leafy greens. You’ll to them with hemp hearts, orange zest, and other awesome flavors.

7. Sweet Potato Gnocchi With Pork Ragu

This sweet potato gnocchi recipe uses tapioca flour, potato flour, and almond flour with an egg yolk and sweet potatoes (replace the parmesan with nutritional yeast). You’ll serve it up with a delicious pork ragu made with red wine, garlic, oregano, and more.

8. White Sweet Potato Gnocci

These are made with white sweet potatoes, tapioca starch, almond flour, egg, salt, pepper, and the secret ingredient—nutmeg. Nutmeg adds so much flavor to these little pillows of joy! My favorite way to enjoy them is sautéed with butter or ghee and served with veggies.
