There are very few things in life that are more refreshing than an ice cold glass of lemonade on a hot sunny day. Children understand this perfectly, which explains why you see so many 5-cent lemonade stands set up in by young entrepreneurs. With that in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to share not one, not two, but three great paleo lemonade recipes with you guys today. These recipes make three distinct lemonade flavors — watermelon lemonade, ginger mint lemonade, and pineapple lemonade. Make sure that you try them all out to figure out which one is your favorite.
All Natural Ingredients for Incredibly Refreshing Lemonade
First things first, there are a few things that all three of these recipes share in common. Each of them obviously requires freshly squeezed lemon juice along with water and ice cubes. I love adding lemon juice into my water as it is anyway and I definitely notice an increase in my energy levels on the days where I drink it. Lemon juice and water can actually be a fantastic replacement for your morning cup of coffee. It’s also great for lowering blood pressure and assisting your body’s natural detoxification process. (1)
Honey, Nature’s All-Around Sweetener
Each of these recipes also contains honey for use as a sweetener. Far healthier than refined table sugars, honey is full of nutrients. It has antiviral, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties (2), it’s full of vitamins and minerals, and it’s just flat out delicious. I’ve been guilty of occasionally enjoying a spoonful of honey on its own because it’s so sweet and tasty, but thankfully that little treat remains guilt-free because of how nutritious honey is.
With those similarities out of the way, let’s dive right into how these recipes diverge. The first recipe is for watermelon flavored lemonade, and as you can guess, makes heavy use of cubed seedless watermelon. This one is especially refreshing when you consider the high water content of watermelon as well. Next up is a delightful ginger mint recipe that adds fresh mint leaves and chopped ginger into the mix. It gives the lemonade an incredible slightly spicy flavoring with an added minty aftertaste. And finally, there is the pineapple lemonade recipe. Just like the watermelon recipe, there’s nothing too fancy here as you are simply adding sliced pieces of pineapple in with the other ingredients. It makes a delightfully sweet and tangy beverage that’s perfect for staying hydrated.
Each one of these lemonade recipes is fantastic in its own right, and I encourage everyone to give all three of them a try. It doesn’t matter whether you go with the watermelon, the ginger mint, or the pineapple lemonade — you truly can’t go wrong with any of them. The fact is there is really nothing like a nice and cold freshly made drink that uses all natural healthy ingredients.
